What is Katonah Yoga?

Katonah Yoga is a practice that uses good technique to make you more functional. It combines classical Hatha Yoga, Taoist theory, Five Element Theory and Sacred Geometry. The practice encourages self discipline, self responsibility and self actualization. The ultimate goal of the practice is personal empowerment, gratitude and graceful use of efforts.

The Program

Week One: Becoming Your Word

On November 11th, we will examine integrity as it applies to our relationship with ourselves.  Often we will break our commitment to ourselves far more quickly then we would to our loved ones.


Week Two: The Process of Embodiment

On November 18th, we will explore the importance of repetition.  A skill is developed over time.  It takes good technique repeated over time.


Week Three: Pinnacle of Achievement

On November 25th, we will look at our own personal achievements, and our set backs.  We will discover where we get tripped up most, and consider how to change our personal narrative around success.


Week Four: From Beginning to End

On December 2nd, we will explore the whole of ourselves as a sum of it’s parts.  To understand ourselves we must consider ourselves as a whole being AND a set of separate parts that come together to form the whole.


Week Five: Begin Again

On December 9th, we begin again on our last day together and explore what nature shows us with respect to the ongoing nature cycles.

Sara is one of the most passionate yoga teachers you will ever meet.  She has been teaching yoga since 2014 and became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2016.  Yogi, mother, and and a fan of living life really well.  She is driven by the desire to age with grace, and wants to help you do the same!

This practice is for ALL LEVELS, even beginners.  The emphasis of this series is to support you in developing excellent technique so it’s perfect for all practitioners irrespective of their experience level.

All you need to bring for class is your yoga mat.  We have all the props (blocks, straps, blankets & sandbags) required to support you through your practice.
