A transition from the periphery to the centre
Autumn is my favourite time of year. I think it’s the introvert in me that craves the quiet and stillness that comes when the leaves begin to turn colour and fall to back to the earth.
Autumn is a season of transition, not unlike Spring. Though instead of sprouting upward toward the sun, this transition is about shedding the excess and returning to the core; the center.
It is a season of consolidation, organization and letting go.

Simplification and surrender
Summer represents the reach and realization of one’s potential. The fruit in it’s ripest form.
But summer doesn’t last forever.
Autumn always calms to call us back in.
The ripe fruit which goes unpicked, eventually falls to the earth and provides fertilization for when spring and summer return again.
What follows summer, is a process of simplification and surrender; of letting go of what was.
Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.
Enjoy the dusk.
Just as fall marks the end of the year, so does the dusk mark the end of each day. It is the space between the day and night, where the light begins to fade, giving way to dark. Now is a perfect time to reflect.
Consider your what you set off to do in spring? What seeds did you plant? Did they come to fruition? What can you learn from the process? What’s your best way forward? What needs to be consolidated? What needs to be let go of?

This is the time to assess; to consolidate. Just as the Alchemist, transforms ordinary metals into gold. And the lungs absorb nutrients and release waste.
This is your time to shed your leaves. Reflect and release. Go for the gold.
